China High Quality Adsorbent Zeolite 3A Molecular Sieve Factories, Pricelist
Molecular Sieve type 3A is an alkali metal alumino-silicate; it is the potassium form of the type A crystal structure. Type 3A has an effective pore opening of about 3 angstroms (0.3nm). This is large enough to allow in moisture, but excludes molecules such as unsaturated hydrocarbons which can potentially form polymers; and this maximises lifetime when dehydrating such molecules.
Drying of unsaturated hydrocarbons (e.g., ethylene, propylene, butadiene)
Cracked gas drying
Drying of natural gas, especially when COS minimization is essential, or minimal co-adsorption of hydrocarbons is required
Drying of highly polar compounds, such as methanol and ethanol
Drying of liquid alcohol
Static (non-regenerative) dehydration of insulating glass units, whether air-filled or gas-filled
Drying of CNG (Compressed Natural Gas)

Regeneration of 3A Molecular Sieve
Molecular sieve Type 3A can be regenerated by either heating in the case of thermal swing processes, or by lowering the pressure in the case of pressure swing processes.
To remove moisture from a 3A molecular sieve, a temperature of 200–230°C is required. A properly regenerated molecular sieve can achieve moisture dew points below -100°C. Outlet concentrations during a pressure swing process will depend directly on the gas present and operating conditions.
Available Sizes
3A Zeolites are available in:
Beads: 1-2 mm (10x18 mesh), 2-3 mm (8x12 mesh), 2.5-5 mm (4x8 mesh)
Pellets: 1.6 mm, 3.2 mm
Powder form
Attention: Keep properly sealed to avoid damp conditions and pre-adsorption of organic compounds before operation. If exposed, material must be reactivated prior to use.
Frequently Asked Questions (FAQ)
1. What is 3A molecular sieve primarily used for?
3A molecular sieve is primarily used for deep drying of unsaturated hydrocarbons (such as ethylene, propylene, and butadiene), cracked gas, natural gas, highly polar liquids like ethanol and methanol, CNG, and insulating glass units.
2. How is a 3A molecular sieve regenerated?
It can be regenerated via thermal swing (heating at 200–230°C to strip away adsorbed moisture) or pressure swing processes (lowering operating pressure). Properly regenerated sieves can reach dew points below -100°C.
3. What is the nominal pore size of this molecular sieve?
Type 3A has an effective pore opening of approximately 3 angstroms (0.3 nm), allowing it to selectively adsorb moisture while excluding larger hydrocarbon molecules.
4. What packaging formats and order quantities are available?
Products are shipped in carton boxes, carton drums, or steel drums. The standard minimum order quantity (MOQ) is 1 Metric Ton, with sample orders available below 5 kg.
5. What should be done if the desiccant is exposed to moisture before use?
To prevent reduced performance, avoid damp conditions and organic contamination before running. If exposed to air or humidity, the molecular sieve must be reactivated/regenerated prior to standard operation.
6. What quality standards and warranties apply to 3A molecular sieve?
The product is manufactured in compliance with National Standard GBT 10504-2008 and includes lifetime technical consultation for operational queries.
